AM114 ID: MAGNET TAKES OVER AT THE ELIOS AMBIENTE CONSTRUCTION SITE

Efficiency, safety, and maximum productivity on a 90,000 m² construction site in the Milan hinterland

The Client

Elios Ambiente is a company with decades of experience in environmental management of major construction sites and the redevelopment of brownfield sites through environmental remediation and controlled demolitions. It operates according to the principles of the circular economy, transforming contaminated land and materials into reusable resources, with sustainability and environmental protection at its core.
 

The Requirement

The construction site, covering approximately 90,000 m², featured buildings from different eras and with different construction characteristics: industrial warehouses, logistics complexes, and office buildings. The objective was:

• perform large-scale selective demolition;
• ensure high productivity;
• obtain materials as clean and separated as possible;
• optimize iron removal before crushing the aggregates (estimated 30,000 m³);
• increase safety by reducing the presence of operators on the ground.

In a context with tight deadlines and large volumes, the choice of the tools was crucial.
 

The Solution

The discussion between the Elios Ambiente and ATIB Magnetics teams allowed them to analyze the actual operational needs of the construction site and identify the most effective solution. The choice fell on the AM114 ID hydraulic electromagnet, the true key to the material selection process.
The magnet allowed ferrous materials to be rapidly separated during all demolition and processing phases, increasing operational safety and overall productivity on the construction site. The version with teeth made it possible to loosen debris and recover metal reinforcement bars from compact conglomerates, ensuring cleaner materials ready for subsequent crushing.

Key features that have made its use practical:

• High lifting capacity, approximately 550 kg on irregular scrap and much more on compact materials like flat plates, to handle large volumes without slowing down the construction site.
• Chance to be operated by a single operator in the cabin, reducing people on the ground and increasing safety.
• Compatible with excavators from 20 to 28 tons, ensuring flexibility and reducing downtime.
• Version with teeth for collecting iron and moving debris, even from compacted conglomerates.
