Each electromagnet generates heat when in use. Heat is dissipated when the magnet is switched off.
So, you can work with your magnet even 24 hours a day, but the magnet cannot be always on during these hours. The magnet has a parameter called ‘duty cycle’ that specifies how much time the magnet can be on and how much time it must be off. The duty cycle must be respected.
 

The duty cycle specifies how long a magnet can be in the ON condition over a 10 minutes timeframe. A magnet with a 50% duty cycle can be ON for 5 minutes every 10 minutes.
 

Our hydraulic an 220Volt magnets are designed with a 50% duty cycle. Low voltage magnets running at 12volt or 24volt have a working cycle of 75%.
 

If the duty cycle is not respected the magnet can overheat and finally, burn.
 

Electrical coils are commonly made of aluminium or copper. The coils of ATIB Magnetics excavator magnets are made of aluminium.
 

Aluminium is lighter, which is very important for tools that must be handled by excavators.
 

Yes, you can. But itis produced as special part just for you so the cost is generally higher and the delivery time longer.

Actually, using a magnet you can collect only steel parts and leave other materials on the ground.
You can collect iron parts, even with an irregular shape, much faster and more safely than by hand.
And you can collect small iron parts that you cannot lift with other type of attachments.
Finally, you can lift objects regardless of their shape. (a magnet can attract what a clamp cannot get)
 

Because a hydraulic magnet does not need an electric generator so it works on any excavator/material handler and can be moved from one excavator to another.
 

 No. They are electromagnets. The hart of the hydraulic magnet is a solenoid.
 

Not. The oil flow generates electric current and the electric current generates a magnetic field. But in the day-by-day use, yes, it’s like the oil flow is generating the magnetic field.
 

It’s so important because an excessive value of back pressure can damage the hydraulic motor.
 

They can withstand up to 20 bar back pressure. But do not forget that a magnet working with no back pressure will last for longer.
 

Because our magnets are more efficient. The lifting capacity does not depend only on the power. In many cases our magnets have same lifting capacity with lower power and lower weight.
Lower power means less heat generated and less fuel consumption. It’s an advantage for the environment and an advantage for the business.
 

The suggested level of flow is showed in the user manual for each model. As a rule, the best level of flow to run the magnet is the lowest acceptable level not to have unwanted release of material. The maximum flow clearly marked on the user manual must never be exceeded.
 

The magnet works with constant flow. You must set a constant flow, while the pressure must be free to fluctuate. You must only set a value of maximum allowed pressure (relief valve threshold) to protect the system from overpressure. Yes, it is. Since the hydraulic magnet only needs connection to a hydraulic circuit, it can be rent just as an attachment. The user will set up his own machine to work with the hydraulic magnet.
 

Teeth are used to move the demolished material and rake out the steel pieces. After raking the material by mean of teeth you can switch the magnet on and collect the raked parts.

The 2 series are for 2 different needs. Magnets of the BE series are cheaper and lighter and are suggested for very light carriers. Magnets of the BI series are more sophisticated, heavier, more expensive and with a limited autonomy of the batteries. They are suggested for heavier carriers and for all the cases where the ease of use is mandatory.
 

There are 2 series of battery magnets. The BE series works with the battery of the excavator/material handler so it requires an installation on the carrier. The BI series has a battery onboard the magnet so it is totally autonomous.
